Congrats to Bulletproof Bear’s own, Gil Talmi!
World-renowned EMMY nominated composer and Bulletproof Bear Producer/Artist, Gil Talmi, has receieved a nomination for a MASA award. More specifically, Talmi’s nomination falls within the Original Composition category for his work on the critically acclaimed feature film ‘Chavela’.
The Music+Sound Awards (MASA) are the world’s first and only global awards programme to recognize and celebrate the indispensable role and outstanding contribution that both music and sound design play in the media. The MASAs are aimed at professionals, worldwide, working in advertising, film and television (branding and programming.) Numbering fifteen judges in total, the Original Composition jury is comprised of a cast that is as diverse as it is formidable. This cast features such notable composers as Harry Gregson-Williams, Marcello De Francisci, and Walter Mair.
Over the years, Talmi has crafted a signature sound for himself. This sound is a result of blending his traditional orchestral background with eclectic world music sensibilities and tasteful analog electronics. As a result, he has also provided original music for “Desert Migration“, “Remittance“, and “The Memory of Fish“. Similar noteworthy works include Peabody Award winning documentaries ‘Between The Folds’ and ‘Who Killed Chea Vichea?’, as well as ‘New Year Baby’, winner of the Amnesty International ‘Movies That Matter’ Award.
